April 30, 2010.    The Church's  St Francis of Assisi House in Peru, a 25 year ministry led by Bishop Peter Orlando to support abandoned children, continues to produce meaningful futures for the young people it serves.   One young lady served by the mission,  after years of difficulties  has graduated from chef school and recently  started a cafe/grocery store with her brother.   Another will be graduating from a mission-sponsored  apprenticeship in welding in June, and a third just graduated from beautician school.   The mission also recently arranged for another mission supported recipient to be placed in the  beauty and sewing academies and for another to start training to become an auto mechanic this summer.   The mission is also continuing to grow in self-sufficiency through a newly-started mission business.   The UCC's annual appeal to support this mission is underway; please contact Bp Orlando at pandborlando@q.com for more information on how you can help.
